One of Those Days by Joy Williams on Grooveshark

Half Empty:

I woke up super late today. 45 minutes late. 10 minutes before I was supposed to leave for work. When mom came in the room I thought I was already hours late to work (obviously I wasn't fully awake yet) so I called work and told them I'd be in late. I stumbled into the bathroom and turned on the shower. Then I realized I didn't have time for a shower; I'm training the new girl at work and she would be waiting on me. So I turned off the shower, threw my hair up, brushed my teeth and rushed out the door.

I thought I'd try out the fancy new drink machine at work. It makes 1 cup of practically anything (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate in a variety of flavors). Obviously, I opted for hot chocolate. It wasn't very tasty. I added a packet of hot chocolate mix to try to make it more flavorful - unfortunately, it was sugar free and made the hot chocolate even worse.

The computers broke towards the end of the day, so we had no email, access to files, or internet. In my morning rush, I forgot to grab the kindle so I had nothing to entertain me.

It started raining as soon as I left the office, and of course I left my umbrella at home so I had to walk through the parking lot in the rain.

Half Full:

I got to sleep in for 45 glorious minutes today. Mom woke me up before I would be too terribly late to work.

Someone brought us a cake to work! I love special surprises - especially edible ones :)

The computers worked the whole time Lauren (the new girl) was there, so we were able to get a lot accomplished. She is really catching on fast.

It started raining when I was on my way home from the office, but it hadn't been raining for long enough for the parking lot to flood so I didn't have to swim home and my shoes didn't get ruined.

You know you have a wonderful life when your bad days are this good.
